Let’s face it. Despite words from the government that the economy is looking up most of us are not feeling it. This means that most online slots players are not looking to invest big bucks in online slots tournaments. So the option is to either not play in tournaments or to put more money than desire on the line.

Or you can look for some cheap online slots tournaments to play in. Thankfully I have a couple here from Online Vegas for you to check out if they catch your eye, and both are under $2 and both are on the weekends.

First up is the Bonus Bucks weekend tournament series. This particular tournament series is the cheapest online that I have found bar freeroll tournaments, but those are a whole other ball game. Players can play in the Bonus Bucks weekend tournaments for only $0.99 per tournament. The less-than-a-dollar entry fee gets players 225 tournament credits to start out with on whichever Vegas Technology online slots game was chosen for that weekend’s Bonus Bucks tournament.

Each Bonus Bucks tournament begins at 9 am each Saturday and play continues until 10 pm on Sunday. So essentially a 37 hour tournament that gives players the opportunity to win a portion of the $2,500 Bonus Bucks prize pool.

If Bonus Bucks is not your cup of coffee but you still want to keep the tournament investment to a minimum check out Online Vegas’ Frugal Friday tournaments. As you might have guessed this tournament series takes place on Fridays. Every Friday. This is a twelve hour online slots tournament that begins at 9 am on Friday and ends at 9 pm the same day.

This cheap online slots tournament only requires a $1.99 entry fee, which gives you 150 tournament credits, but has you competing for a portion of the $1,500 cash prize.

So there you go. Two cheap online slots tournaments to check out at Online Vegas to give you your tournament fix without breaking your bankroll.

Looking for Some Bonus Money?

No one would ever say no to bonus money. Especially bonus money won in an online slots tournament. Thankfully Online Vegas offers their players the chance to win some of their bonus money, called Bonus Bucks, every weekend.

Online Vegas calls it their Bonus Bucks Weekend tournament series. Every Saturday, beginning at 9 am, slots players at Online Vegas can begin spinning the reels of that weekend’s chosen Vegas Technology online slots game. Each tournament runs up until 10 pm of the next day, Sunday.

The prize pool that slots players are spinning the reels to climb their way up the leader board in hopes of winning a portion of the $2,500 in Bonus Bucks that make up the prize pool for this online slots tournament.

Another thing that makes this an easy tournament to play is its entry fee. Players who wish to play in a Bonus Bucks Weekend tournament need only pay a $0.99 entry fee. That $0.99 gets them 225 tournament credits to play with. And just in case it becomes necessary, rebuys are available for $0.99 each.

Since this is a reoccurring slot tournament series, the Vegas Technology online slots game that is used changes with each weekend. This coming weekend, for the tournament that begins at 9 am on the 19th, the online slots game being used is Lucky Lady. Next weekend players will be spinning the reels of Black Magic in hopes of winning a portion of that $2,500 Bonus Bucks prize pool.

This is an easy and short online slots tournament to play in—not to mention inexpensive. And like I said, who turns their nose up at bonus money? Players that are interested in trying for a portion of the Bonus Bucks prize pool can register at Online Vegas in their tournament lobby.

Differences in Freeroll Tournaments

Tournaments | Wednesday January 26 2011 11:51 am | Comments Off Tags: ,

I am going to take a break this week from writing up specific online slots tournaments and take a post to talk about some differences in freeroll slots tournaments.

Freeroll tournaments are a favorite among online slots players, be they experienced online slots players or novices. After all, who would not want to partake of something that is free? And that is what freerolls offer up to slots players.

But not all freerolls were created equal. And there is a bit of bankroll management that can be applied to freeroll tournaments.

For starters, freeroll tournaments are pretty simple to understand. Slots players with existing player accounts need only register for the freeroll and then start playing the designated slots game once the tournament opens. But freerolls generally only give players a small amount of tournament credits to play with—after all the online casino does want to make some money. Their hope is that players will spin through their free tournament credits and then pay the rebuy fee for more credits to keep playing. That is how they make their money.

Typically slots players will play until they run out of free credits; they are only playing for a lark because it is a free tournament. While some will continue to rebuy for their shot at rocketing up the leader board, many will call it quits when the free credits are gone. And that is where the trick of bankroll management comes in. Slots players are not obligated to put money into a free tournament—or put more into a tournament they paid to enter.

Freerolls are generally perceived as for fun type tournament. Unless you really want the Bonus Bucks or smaller cash prize, just play a freeroll tournament for fun, enjoy the experience, or even use the experience in getting your feet wet for future tournament play.

Turkey Tournament at VIP Slots

Tournaments | Wednesday November 3 2010 11:44 am | Comments Off Tags:

I love the holidays. It is the time of year that online casinos go a little wild with their online slots tournaments. Halloween was a blast with its tournaments, and now we are moving on to Thanksgiving, turkey and some online slots tournaments to be thankful for.

First up on our list of tournaments to be thankful for is the one being hosted by VIP Slots. They are calling it The Big Turkey. And so it is.

The Big Turkey is a month long online slots tournament that began this past Monday, November 1st and will continue through November 30th, with registration closing at 11:01 pm on the 30th and the turkey coming out of the oven at 12:01 am on December 1st.

But the duration of is not the only thing that makes this tournament a big turkey—there is also its prize pool to consider. The Big Turkey is stuffed with a $100,000 prize pool. The breakdown looks like this:

Prize 1: $50,000
Prize 2: $10,000
Prize 3: $5,000
Prize 4: $2,500
Prize 5: $1,000
Prize 6: $500
Prize 7: $250
Prize 8: $100 bonus money
Prize 9: $50 bonus money
Prize 10: $10 bonus money

Some of those prizes will be awarded to multiple players depending on which prize it is. Obviously the $50,000 prize will be going to only one player. But if you are that player than the $10 entry fee was well worth it.

Because that is the entry fee for The Big Turkey. The $10 will give you a $500 tournament balance to spin the reels of California Gold with. Think spinning the reels as being like shoveling yourself full of mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and yams to see if you can be the first to the pumpkin pie.

I have to say that I like Thanksgiving online slots tournaments. It is nice to see online casinos like VIP Slots celebrating a holiday that the mainstream consumer market ignores. Here’s to the Big Turkey slots tournament!

Haunted 100K at VIP Slots

No, it is not ghost money. VIP Slots really is giving away $100,000 in their latest online slots tournament, the Haunted 100K.

This is yet another Halloween online slots tournament that is being hosted this month. Actually this particular slots tournament is running all month. The spinning of the reels and movement on the leader board began on the October 1st. And the reels will continue to spin and players continue to move around on the leader board through 12:01 am on November 1st.

The $100,000 will be broken down among the top seven playing players. But there will be bonus money awarded to the remaining top ten places. Some places will have multiple winners, but the top five places will only have one winner. Here is the breakdown of the prize pool and bonus money:

Cash Prizes:
1st place: $50,000
2nd place: $10,000
3rd place: $5,000
4th place: $2,500
5th place: $1,000
6th place: $500
7th place: $250

Bonus Money:
8th place: $100
9th place: $50
10th place: $10

To go along with the Halloween theme of this month long online slots tournament, VIP Slots selected one of Vegas Technology’s appropriately themed slots games. The slots game for this tournament is called Black Magic.

Black Magic is a creepy five reel online slots game with twenty five paylines. It incorporates symbols associated with evil witchcraft, such as Bats, Snakes and Skulls. With its creepy, crawly dark symbols its atmosphere is perfect for a Halloween online slots tournament. Good choice on VIP Slots’ part.

Entry into this tournament is $10 and it will give players a starting tournament balance of $500. For any player who spins through that, rebuys are available for $10 each and each rebuy is worth another $500.

This is one Halloween party that you do not need a costume for. Though if you want to sit in front of your computer with a mask, go right ahead. VIP Slots has done a marvelous job putting their Haunted 100K together—it will be a fun online slots tournament to play in. That is if the creepy crawlies in the slots game do not scare you away.

Halloween Slots Tournament

Tournaments | Wednesday October 6 2010 10:42 am | Comments Off Tags: , ,

Yes! They are finally here! Halloween online slots tournaments!

Online casinos will use just about any holiday to host an online slots tournament. And slots players typically do not mind at all.

While this announcement is a bit early, Go Casino will be hosting their Halloween Weekend this month. It will begin on Friday, October 29th at 8 pm, and will end on Monday, November 1st at 12 pm.

Go has done everything that they could to put the creepiness of Halloween into this slots tournament.

For starters the prize pool is $66,666. Now they could have gone for an even $666,666 but that might be pushing superstition and luck. So players can spin the reels to try to win a share of that $66,666.

And what reels are players spinning? Why it should be no surprise that Go would pull out the most Halloween-y online slots game that their Vegas Technology powered arsenal has: Monster Money.

Monster Money is a five reel, twenty five payline online slots game with a Dr. Frankenstein theme. This slots game comes complete with body parts, bolts and other science paraphernalia associated with a mad scientist bringing a body to life. Players have the bonus game with creepy doors to open in a haunted house on their sides to help boost them up the leader board.

Going along with the intent to create a creepy yet fun environment for their Halloween online slots tournament, Go set the entry fee at $6.66. This $6.66 entry fee will give players 300 tournament credits to play with. Should anyone run out there are rebuys available…for $6.66, of course.

While it is still a couple of weeks away, there is plenty of excitement surrounding this spook-tacular Halloween Weekend online slots tournament at Go Casino.

Looking for an Online Slots Tournament?

Often times players will play in online slots tournaments at the online casino where they already have an account. It is just easier that way. After all, they already have their player account set up and money deposited there.

But sometimes players want to see what is being offered at other online casinos. Often times they are looking for either a freeroll online slots tournament or a tournament with a large prize pool to play in.

And then there are online slots players who are new to the online casino world and who are still settling in. Perhaps they have not found an online casino to call home yet.

The point is that online casinos often use their tournaments—especially their freeroll online slots tournaments and big prize pool tournaments—to bring in new members to their casino. After all, nowhere is it written that players are only allowed to play at one online casino.

All that being said, it is important for online casinos to have their tournament schedules easily accessible. And the majority of online casinos do so. They will at least have the start and end times, the prize pool, entry fee, rebuys and game played posted. Some online casinos offer more about their tournaments than just those details, but it is accessible only after logging in.

But at least the basic information is there.

Unfortunately, Rushmore’s tournament schedule is only accessible when logged in to a real money account. This means that if a potential player does not have a real money account, he or she cannot view any information about the tournaments.

Granted, Rushmore just switched their tournament provider earlier this year so that online slots tournaments are new. I am hoping that they will make their schedule more easily accessible because it is a fine online casino to play at and is supported by Real Time Gaming.

Rushmore is offering their usual three online slots tournaments throughout the next week every day: Crystal Waters, Loose Caboose and Texan Tycoon. These three online slots tournaments have not changed in format since I wrote about them a few weeks ago. They are decent online slots tournaments and meet the needs of a range of players, from novices to high rollers.

Online Vegas is up Late with Online Slots Tournaments

Do you find yourself awake late at night? Perhaps you just cannot sleep. Maybe a little action will be enough to make you sleepy. If that is the case there is action to be had seven nights a week at Online Vegas. Online slots tournament action I mean.

One of the online slots tournament series that is hosted at Online Vegas is called the Red Eye Pot Percentage. And as the name suggests, these online slots tournaments go in to the wee hours of the morning.

Each one of these Red Eye online slots tournaments begins at 12:30 am and ends at 8:30 am the same day. And there is one every night. Or every morning depending upon how you look at it.

As also suggested by the name, players are playing for a percentage of the pot. So the more night owls that are up playing, the larger the post. Of course, the less there are the better your chances are of winning that pot. This might be an easy online slots tournament in which to pick up a bit of real money winnings.

To get in on the late night action players need to register for whichever Red Eye they want to play in and pay the $2.99 entry fee. That $2.99 gives players 250 tournament credits to play with. Rebuys are available for $2.99.

Online Vegas as selected seven of its Vegas Technology online slots games for this online slots tournament series, one for each night of the week:

Sunday: Eastern Dragon
Monday: Winter Wonderland
Tuesday: Parrot Party
Wednesday: Tiki Lounge
Thursday: Northern Lights
Friday: Butterflies
Saturday: Fire Hawk

Really it is clever of Online Vegas to offer such an online slots tournament series. Night owls will like what is most likely a diminished competition. And it does give you the chance of winning some real money when you happen to be up late.

VIP Slots $lot$ tember Online Slots Tournament

Flying in the face of all schooling, VIP Slots is calling their month long online slots tournament $lot$ tember. Yes, all of my English teachers would be very not pleased too.

I am sure that the name of this online slots tournament is VIP Slots’ way of rebelling against the fact that schools traditionally resume in early September. Way to go, VIP!

$lot$ tember began back on September 1st and will run through the entire month of September, ending at 12:01 am on October 1st. So plenty of time for interested online slots players to join in the flouting of conventional English.

Entry into this online slots tournament is set at $10, which gives the player $75 in tournament credits to spin the reels with.

VIP is also offering rebuys to those players who find themselves in need of more tournament credits. Another $75 in credits can be yours for another $10. Players can each make a maximum number of 1,000 rebuys. Hey, there has to be a cut off at some point.

And of course with this being a month long online slots tournament, $lot$ tember is offering some nice cash prizes and bonus cash prizes:

1st place: $50,000
2nd place: $20,000
3rd place: $7,500
4th place: $2,500
5th place: $1,000
6th place: $500
7th place: $100 bonus cash
8th place: $50 bonus cash
9th place: $25
10th place: $10

You have got to love an online slots tournament that is awarding cash prizes, even if the hosting online casino is flying in the face of spelling conventions.

In all seriousness many online casinos are switching to awarding bonus cash instead of cash prizes. This is most likely due to a poor economy with less people gambling online.

Right now there are 801 players registered and spinning the reels on Beat the Bank, the online slots game being used for this tournament. This is a five reel online slots game produced by Vegas Technology with twenty five paylines.

There is still plenty of time to drop by VIP Slots and get in on this online tournament and to support the charming misspelling of September in their $lot$ tember online slots tournament.

100K at Go During Labor Day

Would you like a piece of that 100K for your labors?

Go Casino is pulling out all the stops for their Labor Day online slots tournament. Everything a slots player could want from an online slots tournament is here:

First the Labor Day online slots tournament is a freeroll tournament. There is no entry fee to get in on the Labor Day fun. And with $100,000 up for grabs, what is not to lose? Registering for this freeroll online slots tournament will get players 75 tournament credits for free to play with. Should anyone run out and wish to continue in the tournament, rebuys are available for $12.99.

Second this is no here and gone online slots tournament. Players have a whole week to play with their 75 credits—or with the credits they get through rebuys.

The Labor Day Freeroll will begin at 10 pm this Friday, September 3rd, and will run through 10:45 pm next Friday, September 10th. This gives players a whole week to take part in this freeroll and take their shot at a piece of that 100K.

Third, this freeroll online slots tournament has a prize pool of $100,000. Typically Go’s highest prize pool in a month is only $75,000, with $50,000 on their other tournaments. But this month the prize pools have turned. This month Go is paying out $100,000 on this freeroll tournament, and only paying out $30,000 for their other three weekend tournaments. So if you want your shot at a high prize this Labor Day freeroll is for you.

Go’s Labor Day freeroll is going to be played out on California Gold, a five reel online slots game from Vegas Technology with twenty five paylines. The strike it rich theme of this online slots game works perfectly with the Labor Day Freeroll that Go Casino is hosting.

Free entry, $100,000 up for grabs and a week to play—who could not ask for more from an online slots tournament?
