Tips on Choosing a Slots Game

It is another few days before we get into the April online slots tournaments, so I thought I would take this week’s post and give some tips on choosing an online slots game. Because let’s face it, we slots players do not play in tournaments 100% of the time. So while we may not have a choice on the slots game being used in an online slots tournament, we do have a choice when we are not playing in a tournament.

There are a couple of statistics about a slots game that you can use. One would be the slots game’s hit frequency; the other is its payout percentage.

Hit frequency is how often the slots game pays out. A high hit frequency bespeaks of a slots game that pays out often, whereas a low hit frequency tells of a slots game that does not hit often. But the one thing to keep in mind is that hit frequency does not give the timing of when a slots game will hit; nothing tells whether it will hit back to back to back or if the hits will be spread out. Also not indicated is how much the payouts will be, whether they will be large payouts or small ones.

But speaking of payouts, that brings us to payout percentage. Payout percentage is a measure of how much a slots game pays out of the total amount of wagers it takes in in a given time period. This percentage takes into account all of the wagers made by all the players of that slots game. So say in a month a slots game takes in $100,000 and has a payout percentage of 97%. That means it will pay out $97,000 in that month. Now this does not mean that one player will win $97,000 or that you will receive 97% of your wagers back; these payouts could be large ones or small ones—it does not matter the increments so long as it pays out 97%.

While those two figures are not very concrete judges of a slots game, they can help serve as a guide. While those two figures do not guarantee anything to you as a player, they can help you to choose the slots game with the highest hit frequency or the highest payout percentage.

Can Online Slots Really be Free?

Online Slots | Tuesday March 22 2011 10:42 am | Comments Off Tags: , ,

Yes, it is possible to play online slots for free. Understand though that this is not a lucrative way to go about online slots, but then it is well-known that it is likely that online casinos use slots games to slowly siphon off a player’s bankroll. On that thought, if you really want to hang onto your bankroll but still want to play online slots, free is definitely the way to go.

There are two main ways that you can go about playing online slots for free.

The first is to play in a freeroll online slots tournament. Online casinos will often offer these kinds of tournaments to coincide with holidays. But be forewarned—online casinos will usually only give a small tournament balance to go along with a lack of entry fee; for players who do not mind spending the money, rebuys are available for continued play. But that would undermine the concept of free online slots.

Another way to play online slots for free is to play in an online casino in its free play or practice mode. It is still required that players create a player account. Player accounts are free; player accounts do not cost a penny until players deposit money, only then do players have money invested.

But a deposit is only required to play for real money. Free play or practice modes only require a player account. This allows customer support to better assist players should they encounter a problem.

While playing online slots for free can be fun and can even let off some stress, understand that playing for nothing means nothing is gained in terms of money. But it is entirely possible to play online slots for free.

100K at VIP’s March Madness

Month Long Tournaments | Wednesday March 16 2011 11:45 am | Comments Off Tags: ,

We are in the middle of March and that means that March Madness is on us. No, I am not talking about basketball. I am talking about VIP Slots’ March Madness online slots tournament. Come on, I write about slots here, not basketball. …Unless it is a basketball themed online slots tournament.

Anyway. March Madness at VIP Slots.

This online slot tournament started back on March 1st but it will continue to run through the end of the month, ending at 12:01 am on April 1st. So there is still half of a month left to play in this online slots tournament to try to spin your way to a piece of the $100,000 prize pool.

Have I mentioned the prize pool outside of the title? No? Well VIP Slots is giving away a two part prize pool that, when added together, equals $100,000: $60,000 in cash and $40,000 in bonus cash (some prize levels will be awarded to multiple players):

Prize 1: $25,000
Prize 2: $10,000
Prize 3: $5,000
Prize 4: $2,500
Prize 5: $1,000
Prize 6: $500
Prize 7: $250
Prize 8: $100 (bonus money)
Prize 9: $25 (bonus money)
Prize 10: $10 (bonus money)

Players can enter the March Madness online slots tournament at VIP Slots for $10. That $10 entry fee will give them $200 for a tournament balance to spin the reels with of the chosen Vegas Technology online slots game, with rebuys available for $10 which will give you another $225.

Now here is where the March Madness theme falls apart for me. The chosen online slots game is Butterflies. It is a nice sweet springtime themed slots game. And while March is generally perceived as the beginning of spring, Butterflies just does not match the fast paced action that is associated with the phrase ‘March Madness.’

That aside, VIP Slots has created an online slots tournament for their players to enjoy for the entire month of March

New Player Rewards Program and Bonuses at Slots Galore

Bonuses | Wednesday March 9 2011 1:09 pm | Comments Off Tags: ,

Rather than give more talks on online slots tournaments, this week I am going to tell you about the exciting roll out of the new player rewards program at Slots Galore. Their new High Roller Club, which you do not have to be a high roller to be a member of, is modeled loosely on Slots Galore’s sister online casinos, VIP Slots; both player rewards programs have six levels with the same names, but the bonuses are a bit different.

Each of the six levels offer a special bonus on every deposit, just like the player rewards program at VIP Slots. The difference comes with the other side benefits and bonuses. VIP Slots’ program has set benefits and bonuses that do not change; but Slots Galore’s side bonuses change monthly in the form of a virtual coupon book.

For example, during March members of all levels have access to up ten extra deposit match bonuses. High Roller Club members can add a 100% deposit match bonus to any five of their deposits using the MAR100SG code. The other monthly coupon bonus is to add a 50% deposit match bonus to any five deposits with the MAR50SG coupon code.

As for the six levels of the High Roller Club they are as follows:

Amber: All players who make at least one successful deposit will be enrolled in the High Roller Club at the Amber level. At this level players receive a 10% bonus on all deposits.

Bronze: The Bronze level is attained once a player earns 10,000 VIPPLAN reward points. The deposit bonus increases to a 15% bonus on all deposits.

Silver: Players are welcomed to the Silver level at 50,000 points, where their deposit bonus on all deposits is increased to 20%.

Gold: At the Gold level, which is at the 100,000 point mark, means that players have a 25% deposit bonus.

Platinum: At 500,000 points players reach the Platinum level, which offers players a 30% bonus on all deposits.

Diamond: The highest level in the High Roller Club is the Diamond level. This level is reached when a player earns 1,000,000. The deposit bonus increases to 35%.

Points in the High Roller Club at Slots Galore are based on bets made on the casino games, such as online slots. Unfortunately bets in online slots tournaments do not count because players are wagering with tournament money and not money from their play accounts. But that aside, player rewards clubs can be highly beneficial to online slots players for the simple reason that it gives them extra money to wager with.

March Means St. Patrick’s Day for Slots Tournaments

Freeroll | Wednesday March 2 2011 12:31 pm | Comments Off Tags:

Get ready to get your St. Pattie’s Day slots on. March is finally here and hopefully with it, some warmer weather. And if it is not warm enough to suit your tastes, have a drink and warm yourself up. Such is the American sentiment behind the popular drinking holiday based on the deeds of St. Patrick.

For online slots players at Go Casino, or for those who are considering spinning the reels at Go Casino, St Patrick’s Day means that it is time for the St. Patrick’s Week Long $25,000 Bonus Buck Freeroll.

In case in that very long title you missed the freeroll part, this online slots tournament does not require an entry fee to play in. And for the cost of free players start with $15 in tournament credits. There are unlimited rebuys available for $4.99 apiece. Each $4.99 rebuy will recharge an online slots player’s tournament balance with $150 in tournament credits.

The St. Patrick’s Day tournament begins on St. Patrick’s Day at 10:30 am, which is probably when a good many will begin their, ahem, ‘celebrating.’ The tournament will for an entire week, ending at 10:30 pm on March 25th. Hopefully the ‘celebrating’ will not last a whole eight days.

Also mentioned in the title, this online slots freeroll tournament will not be paying out cash prizes. Instead the top ranking players will receive Bonus Bucks, which is a fun name for bonus money. Some prizes will be awarded to multiple players, but here are the prize breakdowns for the top ten prizes:

Prize 1: $1,000
Prize 2: $460
Prize 3: $350
Prize 4: $300
Prize 5: $260
Prize 6: $150
Prize 7: $140
Prize 8: $130
Prize 9: $115
Prize 10: $100

While there may not have been a lot to choose from for the battery of holiday tournaments, thankfully there are slightly more to choose from for a St. Patrick’s Day slots tournament. The slots game for Go Casino is Vegas Technology’s Luck of the Irish. Very appropriate for this freeroll. For any online slots players who want to try their luck, they can register for this freeroll at Go Casino.
