He pours two glasses of rum, and the game begins. Players must pick which side of the coin will land face-up – Heads or Tails. If players guess correctly, Fat Pirate takes a drink and the game begins again (it’s three rounds long). However, if players guess wrong, they must take a drink. Win or lose, players will still walk away with bonus credits for having played the game.
The second Bonus Game is a swashbuckling sword fight on the deck against the dreaded Black Beard. Players must decide their moves before the fight, picking from three moves (Slash, stab, and parry). If players win, they get a sizable amount of bonus credits and save the Female Pirate – but if they lose, Black Beard steals the sea-faring dame away. My advice? Don’t lose.
Paco and The Popping Peppers
This south-of-the-border themed slot machine might not be the most racially sensitive game out there, but it is delightfully fun.
The game is a mix between a video slot machine and games like Bejeweled, in which the titular peppers that land on the same pay-line explode, causing their respective reels to adjust accordingly. This leads to the possibility of massive pay-outs each round.
As for this game’s Bonus Game, players need only to line up three straw-hut bars. Upon launching the Fiesta Bonus Game, players are greeted with a card (like from a deck of cards) and they must decide if the next card will be higher or lower in value. If they are right, Paco takes a shot of tequila and the game continues. Players can guess incorrectly three times before the game ends, but if they win they stand to walk away with a huge credit bonus.
Enchanted
My personal favorite, Enchanted is a slot game based around the world of English Fairy Tales with a dash of Shrek for good measure.
One of the great things about this particular slot machine is the wide variety of bonuses it offers players. For instance, while not a bonus game, players who line up three Magic Hats will summon a massive tornado that freezes the reels. The Magic Hat uses his wily spells to unfreeze one random reel for three rounds, which in turn can award players with wins without having to spend any of their credits.
Now the first Bonus Game comes to players after collecting three key symbols. The reels suddenly break down, and out comes the Helpful Dwarf to save the day. Six locked doors will appear randomly over six symbols, and players must tell the Helpful Dwarf which doors should be unlocked. Each time Helpful Dwarf unlocks a door, players get a credit bonus, as well as come one door closer to fixing the reels so that they can keep playing. Thanks, Helpful Dwarf!
The second Bonus Game sees Rufus the Ogre kidnapping the Faery’s pet sparrow. Oh no! It’s okay, though, as players take control of the Faery and exact their revenge. Operation: Save Faery’s Bird commences, and players must chase down Rufus and execute three spells with crackerjack timing in order to turn Rufus into a toad and save the Sparrow. Each round awards players with bonus credits.
